In Albany, urgent care centers are busiest on weekends and evenings when doctors' offices are closed, and most post their wait times online. Across New York, primary care practices often have a waitlist for new patients, so establishing care before you need it saves time. For a dental emergency outside office hours, an urgent care center can prescribe antibiotics and pain relief but cannot fix the tooth; a hospital emergency room can treat swelling that affects breathing or swallowing. Check the listing for insurance, hours and whether telehealth visits are offered.

Albany is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Albany follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

One of the worst hospitals I have ever encountered. Was with someone who was brought in by ambulance from another horrible hospital and it took them 3 1/2 hours for a nurse to visit the patient and give them any pain meds. 4 1/2 hours in and have not seen the specialist we were sent here to see. I don’t want to even give them 1 star. I would really like to give them a - 5. It is 4:30 am by the way.

I am currently a patient recovering from a very serious motorcycle accident involving brain bleeding, a cracked hip, multiple breaks in my leg, and a broken ankle. During my interaction with one of the orthopedic nurses/physical therapy staff, I repeatedly explained that I physically could not move my leg due to extreme pain, nerve pain, and trauma from my injuries. I was screaming in pain while trying to communicate this. Instead of responding with compassion or professionalism, I felt dismissed and pressured. When I refused physical therapy because I genuinely could not tolerate the pain at that moment, the staff member responded by saying words to the effect of: β€œThat’s okay, your leg is going to get a blood clot infection and fall off.” That comment was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, insensitive, and emotionally distressing to say to a trauma patient already dealing with severe physical and mental pain. I was so upset that I told her to leave my room immediately. In addition, I was also frustrated by the food being provided during recovery. As a patient trying to heal from major injuries, I was served meals consisting heavily of processed carbohydrates and sugary

A Nightmarish Experience at Albany Medical Center's Emergency Room Visiting an emergency room is never a pleasant experience, but my encounter at Albany Medical Center's ER was beyond anything I could have anticipatedβ€”a chaotic, disorganized, and distressing ordeal that left me questioning the competence of its management and staff. My visit lasted from 6:30 AM to 8 PM, during which I experienced a range of administrative and clinical failings that are simply unacceptable. Administrative Chaos From the moment I arrived, it was apparent that Albany Medical Center was severely lacking in organization. The sheer duration of my stayβ€”over 13 hoursβ€”is a testament to their inefficiency. Despite being discharged, they forgot about my discharge and have still not uploaded all of my paperwork. The lack of communication was astounding, leading to repeated tests and procedures due to physician turnover and lack of communcation throughout the day. A Lack of Proper Facilities and Resources The hospital was evidently unprepared to handle the patient load. There were insufficient beds, wheelchairs, and physicians to attend to those in need. The waiting room was overcrowded, unhygienic, and chao

The administration is yet again failing its outstanding providers. What an absolute embarrassment this place is. Had a scheduled MRI for a fidgety 9 year old and checked in at the kiosk as indicated and told by receptionist. Got emailed copies of forms 20 mins before appt time. Kiosk indicated we were checked in. Waited, and waited. There’s a sign that says to contact the front desk 15 mins after your appt time if you haven’t been seen. Went up 20 mins after asked if we had been called or missed, maybe they were running behind, gave our details and reception looked us up and were like. β€œHmm yeah they must be running behind.” Went back and sat for another 25 mins. So an over an hour after checking in, only to be told by another receptionist that we were supposed to check in at the counter after the kiosk β€” THIS WAS NEVER INDICATED ON THE SCREEN, or IN THE RECEPTION AREA. And we were effectively β€œnot checked in” - so how then do we have forms indicating we were you ask? Or why didn’t her coworker says something the first time??? Anyway long story short. The providers are AMAZING - the administration is failing EPICALLY. Stop relying on bullshit systems and ai that don’t work to save

I had two experiences with Albany Medical Center this year; this review reflects care for urgent, life-threatening needs and end-of-life care. I will post a separate one for the emergency room care with release to home. My sister was transported by ambulance from Saratoga Springs to Albany Med after a hemorrhagic stroke. Diagnostic testing was performed immediately, and the nursing staff was kind, attentive, and communicative throughout the process. Within half a day, we were given a space on the D5 (Neurology/stroke) floor and met with both a neurosurgeon and a neurologist/stroke specialist who clearly explained her prognosis and life-sustaining options. Knowing and honoring her wishes, we chose comfort care (hospice-like) so she could pass peacefully and naturally. All areas of the hospital were kept extremely clean and hygienic. The care sheβ€”and our familyβ€”received on the C3 East floor (Medicine) was exceptional. We were given privacy in a private room so our family could be together. The compassion shown, the clear medical explanations, and the way staff addressed our questions and grief were handled with both professionalism and genuine kindness. As Christians, we were deeply
